Putting on concerts is an expensive business, especially when the performers are of national/international stature! Our pricing structure (see Tickets & Venue), with free entry for under-19s, large reductions for full-time students and competitively priced season tickets, is designed to make our concerts as accessible as possible to music lovers of all ages and incomes. This was a founding principle of Ipswich Chamber Music Society, and one to which we continue to attach great importance.
However, such a commitment to low prices would be unfeasible without generous donations. We are therefore very grateful to the growing number of audience members who choose to support the Society financially as Friends or sponsors.
Friends of ICMS
To become a Friend of the Society, please buy a season ticket and add a minimum donation of £25 per adult to your payment. As a Friend, you are entitled to complimentary tea and coffee at concerts. Your name will be listed in the centenary booklet if your application is received by 30th September 2024, and in concert programmes for the season (unless you request otherwise). Friends will be invited to a Summer Garden Party to mark the end of our centenary season in 2025.
Sponsorship
Perhaps you would like to go one step further, and sponsor all or part of a particular concert? Recently, people have sponsored an ICMS concert in memory of a family member or friend, or because they wished to hear a particular ensemble or piece of music. Whatever your reason, and whatever level of support you would like to offer, our chairman Andrew Leach would be pleased to discuss sponsorship with you. Please introduce yourself to Andrew at one of our concerts, or send him an email.
The ICMS committee has planned an exciting centenary for the Society in 2024/25 and we anticipate that there will be many sponsorship opportunities for the season, so watch this space!
Ipswich Chamber Music Society is very grateful for the continued generous support of The Scarfe Charitable Trust.
Getting Involved
The committee warmly welcomes any offers of help with practical tasks such as selling programmes, serving refreshments and car park stewarding. Please introduce yourself to a committee member at one of our concerts, or email our secretary, Libby Cotton.
